Maurice developed a lifelong passion for drums over thirty years ago, having been influenced by a wide range of musical styles since the age of four. After leaving high school, he studied music performance at Perth College UHI for two years. Ever since then he has played in various bands, which involved extensive touring across the UK, Europe and North America.

Today Maurice plays with the rock roots soul band - 'The New Madrids'. They have released their debut album 'Through the Heart of Town' which has received wide critical acclaim.

" The band are in great demand on the Americana circuit and have at last got round to producing a great country rock

offering.......the band has been attracting rave reviews for their live shows and this album certainly shows why."

As well as perfoming with The New Madrids and other local bands, Maurice has over 20 years teaching experience. He has built up an extensive knowledge of drum tuition having studied at DrumTech in London, and also with world renowned player/teacher Joe Morello in New York. Maurice has also been inspired and motivated by drumming legends such as John Bonham, Bernard Purdie and Steve Gadd.

Maurice teaches private one on one lessons from his home studio based in Perth and also at Craigclowan Prep School. Lessons are tailored to meet individual needs and are taught in a relaxed and friendly enviroment. The main focus of the lessons cover style analysis, technique and theory studies.
